Much ado about Peace!

Okay, I admit I have too much time on my hands, but I have always wanted to write this so I can have peace. Too many times we(Mankind) believe once we find purpose we find peace, but it is a never-ending cycle. We achieve what we wanted only to find out it was not what we wanted, we move on to the next hoping this is it. It is like a hamster on a wheel running and running with determination only to get nowhere(tried this and someone is ready to blackmail me with it). So much ado about peace, we can have it if we find what?

Nobody can bring you peace but yourself.

So what is Peace? knowing your purpose and how you intend to achieve it? Is it the ability to relax and not think about the stresses of what bothers you(Meee) or not just giving two fucks about anything? Honestly, I do not know(well kinda), but we(or should I say I) tend to put conditions on it e.g, “I will be at peace when I have a list of everything that bothers me no matter how vague”. No wonder we do not have peace “we are always striving for something”. Why can we not just be content with what we have and accept things as they are? ( I like these questions). Oftentimes, we think the answer is in figuring out life and getting what we want (I call BS) is it really?

The Curse

And to Adam he said, “Because you have listened to the voice of your wife and have eaten of the tree of which I commanded you, ‘You shall not eat of it,’ cursed is the ground because of you; in pain you shall eat of it all the days of your life;

As long as man will need to toil the ground aka Adulting there is no peace, so let’s accept that first, I have always thought of how people work the same job for years but don’t enjoy it, and I realized it’s all contentment. So what do people want? and can we have it all? (more questions!). From what I have learned in life(you must think I am 60)people just want to be content, have a home, a family and a job that pays the bills and makes them happy (is that too much to ask). Does this make them not ambitious, nope it is what we are supposed to strive for because it is how we were designed to live and be happy. So, the answer to having it all is maybe “being content with what you have”. — this is a choice.

What does this mean for me?

In as much as we know what people want, very few of us know how to be content with what we have, in fact, I am still struggling with it. Learning to be content is a hard skill to learn (trust me I know). But do not forget

And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth

So do not settle for less, be ambitious — I see it, I like it, I want it, I got it.

Get Busy

I am flattered you’re still here, seriously you need peace. The key I believe is to define what peace is for you and go for it that may be enjoying your own presence(again so me!), or the company of others and making memories but don’t ever bury what disrupts your peace, always attend to them first.

Get busy and do things you actually enjoy and care about, not just things to pass time. Time will still pass even if we do not do anything, so do things that fill your cup. My 2 cents find what bothers you, make peace with it, and be content. But what do I know? too much ado about peace.
